About MMTEI
The Montessori Method of Education
Dr. Maria Montessori, one of Italy’s first woman physicians, created the Montessori Method of education based on her scientific observations of young children’s behavior. She developed what she called the “prepared environment” which has an inherent order and allows children to learn at their own speed in a non-competitive atmosphere.
Our Instructors
Our team of trainers has over 90 years of combined experience in Montessori classrooms. They have also provided consultation services to Montessori schools across the country, from Florida to California. Our mission is to offer top-notch instruction in an environment that is inspiring, helpful, sincere, and respectful of each individual's unique qualities.
Our Campus
MMTEI is affiliated with Woodland Montessori School, which has been providing quality education since 1977. The school's success is a testament to the effectiveness of the Montessori method. All our on-site sessions will take place at our beautiful campus located in downtown Kalispell, Montana. Our campus is situated right across a lovely park where you can enjoy your lunch. We are confident that you will have a wonderful time here!
The Montessori Prepared Environment
We have four beautiful, fully prepared Montessori Classrooms here on campus. Three Early Childhood rooms and one Toddler Classroom are beautifully set up with the full set of AMS required Montessori materials. Students attending our teacher education program will have the opportunity to see the set-up classrooms first-hand and practice with all of the lovely materials.
The Beautiful Flathead Valley
Kalispell is located centrally in the beautiful Flathead Valley. There are dozens of lakes, mountain hiking trails, and Glacier National Park is under an hour away from our training center. You will have plenty to do on the weekends and may even decide to stay for the whole summer!

The Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) is the international standard-setting and accrediting body for Montessori educator preparation. MACTE is committed to the effective preparation of Montessori teachers.
