Kara Kress, Language & Classroom Leadership Instructor

Kara is a Montessori teacher to both adults and young students and loves the life she has found in the Flathead Valley.  She enjoys each season and its many outdoor playgrounds with her husband and two children.  After years of being a nanny, swimming instructor and working with various summer camp programs, she decided teaching was her path in life to make a positive difference in the world.  When living in Northwestern Washington she was exposed to many alternative schooling for children; Montessori strongly catching her attention.  The Montessori approach proved to make the most sense, and meshed best with her community mindedness and love of nature.  This excitement led her to complete both online training and the program through MMTEI, starting to formally teach Early Childhood Montessori in 2005.  In 2013, Kara started to teach for the Montana Montessori Teacher Education Institute, thrilled to be able to pass on her love of Montessori to a group that will pass it on to many more children.
